ASDS (American Society For Dermatologic Surgery) Chemical Peels Self-Assessment Series
This three-part educational activity provides a comprehensive overview on patient selection, skin anatomy and classification, pre and post-resurfacing skin regimens, peel depth selection and performance, indications and advantages of various peeling agents, application techniques and penetration, special considerations, management of complications and overall safety considerations are addressed. Intra- and post-activity assessments augment learning and cement salient points throughout each module.
Module 1: The Science, Skin Preparation and Patient Selection
Learn proper patient selection, understand skin anatomy and cell function and formulate a pre-and post-resurfacing skin care regimen for superficial peels.
Module 2: Attributes and Techniques for Medium, Deep and Combination Peels
Compare medium and deep peels, understand peel depth selection and performance and review after-care patient management. Selection rationale and application techniques for combination peels are addressed.
Module 3: A Case Study Approach to Managing Complications
Manage complications of medium to deep peels, and learn strategies to improve patient outcomes.
